Gladys Lockyer

Gladys I. Lockyer, 84, Independence, MO passed away Jan. 5, 2009. Services be 10 am, Thursday at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 �" 8 pm, Wed. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to Crossroads Hospice or the Community of Christ 39th Street Congregation, 15006 E. 39th S. Independence, MO 64055.
Gladys was born April 2, 1924 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada. She has lived in the Independence area since 1953. She worked as a nurses aide at Independence Regional Hospital for ten years before retiring in 1988. She formerly attended the Community of Christ 39th St. Congregation. Gladys enjoyed reading and camping at Lake Paradise.
Gladys is survived by sons Mervin Lockyer and wife Shirlee, Blue Springs, MO; LeRoy Lockyer, Independence, MO; Wayne Lockyer and wife Kathy, Lee’s Summit, MO; daughter Kathy Lockyer, Independence, MO; brothers Clifford Taylor and wife Joan, Stratford, Ontario; Lloyd Taylor and wife Doris; Howard Taylor and wife Joan, all of Independence, MO; grandchildren Christine, Duane, Kelsey and Kristen.
