Otto Paul “Bud” Logeman, 85, of Grain Valley, MO peacefully passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Buckner Restoration Branch Church, 2607 N. Twyman Rd., Independence, MO. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to North Care Hospice. Bud was born January 14, 1924 in Kansas City, MO to Ammon and Edith (Harris) Logeman. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1942 before starting work at the Fairfax Bomber plant where he assembled B25 aircrafts. During this time he acquired his private pilots license. Bud was united in marriage on November 30, 1945 to Eldene “Jerry” Peer and moved to Grain Valley, MO. Mr. Logeman retired after 35 years of faithful service from Bendix Corporation as a machinist. Bud was a member of the Buckner Restoration Branch Church where he served as an Elder. His life centered around the Lord, the church and it’s many activities. He coached the church softball team and served on the building committee where he assisted in the building of the church. When entering the church you can see examples of his many talents in woodworking. Bud served on the Grain Valley School Board and was involved with many community activities. He was an active member of the Osage Chapter 5028 of the AARP and served as a legislative liaison. Mr. Logeman had a life long love of sports, whether he was a participant or a spectator. He followed Grain Valley High School sports, was a season ticket holder of the Kansas City Chiefs and the University of Missouri Tigers for many years. He was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and share his skills with family and friends. One of Bud’s many talents was drawing and painting. He attended the Kansas City Art Institute. His family and friends are recipients of his works. Bud is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jerry; son David Logeman and wife Terry; daughter Beverly Bertolone and husband Tom; grandsons Eric Logeman and Anthony Bertolone; sister Margaret Carlson; and by a host of many relatives and friends. Bud was preceded in death by his grandson Brent Logeman. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and wonderful grandfather. Bud will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
