Lois Lavon Brewer, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026. Born on September 7, 1941, she blessed the world with her presence for 84 remarkable years.

Lois grew up attending the Walnut Park RLDS congregation, where she and her future husband, David, first met as infants in Cradle Roll. Their lives continued to intertwine through childhood, youth, and adulthood, ultimately sharing 59 years of marriage. A 1959 graduate of William Chrisman High School, Lois devoted herself to creating a warm, joyful home for their three daughters—one filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished memories.

Faith and service were central to Lois’ life. She was a founding member and later President of the Blackburn PTA, a dedicated Sunday school teacher, and an Elder in the Community of Christ church. She worked as head order taker at Herald Publishing House, where she delighted in conversations with book stewards across the country. Later, at the Community of Christ Temple, she organized and supported the volunteer tour guides with her characteristic care and compassion.

Lois was known for her exceptional organization, attention to detail, and unwavering dependability. She had a special talent for planning and hosting family gatherings and church events, ensuring every occasion was thoughtful and memorable. Though she valued order and structure, Lois was also full of fun and had a wonderful sense of humor that brought joy to everyone around her.

Creative and adventurous, Lois enjoyed needlepoint, sewing, painting, and traveling. She and David shared a love of camping and spent many summers taking their daughters on cross-country adventures in a series of beloved campers. She was also an outstanding cook, and her fried chicken and mashed potatoes remain treasured family favorites. Above all, Lois will be remembered for her deep love of family, her faithful service, her generous heart, and the many memories she created for those fortunate enough to know her.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Lillian Kinser, and her husband, David Brewer Jr. Her legacy continues through her daughters Lavon Buchan (Dale), Dana Clark (Kevin), and Linda Speigle (Rich); her grandchildren Tyler Gard (Michael), Tanner Gard (Anna), Alissa Clark, Carolyn Clark, Lexi Titus (Reid), Ashley Speigle, and Brandon Speigle; her great-grandson, Elton Gard; and her sister, Marilyn Tindall.
