Lois Evelyn Brown passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, in Independence, Missouri. Born on September 12, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York, Lois graced the world with her passion for life for 94 remarkable years.

Lois was an alumna of William Chrisman High School and furthered her education by earning an associate's degree from Graceland University. Her commitment to her profession was evident throughout her career at KC Internal Medicine, where her expertise as a medical technologist made a significant impact on the lives of countless patients. A woman of many interests, Lois had a deep love for travel, frequently exploring new horizons with her husband, Marion, their children, and their friends. Many fond memories were created as the family embarked on road trips to national parks during their children's younger years, camping under the stars in awe of nature’s beauty. Lois and Marion also cherished their annual European adventures, discovering the rich tapestry of history and culture that the continent has to offer.

A passionate history buff, Lois enjoyed learning about ancient civilizations, with a particular fascination for places such as Egypt, Greece, and Rome. She cultivated strong friendships and made it a point to gather monthly for dinners filled with laughter and camaraderie. Lois was also an active participant in the Missouri Town Dancing events, reveling in the joy of dance and community. Her faith played a significant role in her life, as she and Marion were dedicated members of their church choir. Together, they shared the joy of music, including the profound experience of singing at performances of the Messiah.

Lois's passing was preceded by her parents, Charles and Nita (Vandel) Hield; her beloved husband, Marion Brown; and their son, Doug Brown. Her legacy lives on through her children, David Brown and Laura Baade (Norm); her daughter-in-law, Kathryn Brown; her grandchildren, Hollis Black (Scott), Derek Baade (Lauren), Brock Baade (Hailey), and Connor Baade (Madeline), Max Brown (Abbie), Angus Brown (Ellie) and Santiago Brown ( Maria); and her great grandchildren, Hugo Black, Vivienne Black, Atlas Baade, Aurora Brown, and Stetson Brown; and her brother, Charles Hield (Loes). Lois' family will hold a private family inurnment at Mound Grove Cemetery at a later date.
