Austin Long, 20, of Indep., MO passed away May 14, 2015. Visitation will be from 6-9pm Friday, May 22, 2015, at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A Memorial Service will be 7pm Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Epic Church, 19260 E 50th Terrace Independence, MO 64055. Austin was born in Kansas City, MO on February 7, 1995 to Larry and Kristine (Miller) Long. He was a graduate of William Chrisman High School, and was looking forward to starting the police academy in the fall. Austin was a member of Epic Church. . He especially enjoyed the time he spent with the Cass County Rescue Mission. He will be remembered for his kind heart, willingness to help others, peacemaking, his faith in the Lord, and the joy he had when playing the guitar. Austin always had a hug and a smile for everyone. Survivors include; parents Larry and Kristine Long; brothers Anthony and Jeremiah Long; sisters Kierstin and Jillian Long; grandmothers Naomi Mountain, Cynthia Spence (Earl), and Teresa Long; grandfathers Johnny Miller (Rebecca) and John (Donna) Ellis, Austin also leaves many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry Long. Memorial donations in Austin’s honor may be made to the church.
