Salvatore “Tudie” LoPorto, 87, of Independence, MO passed away September 23, 2009. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, September 28, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Manor, Good Shepherd Hospice or St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Mr. LoPorto was born December 16, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY to Sylvester and Rosalie LoPorto. He spent many years as a milkman for Sealtest Dairy, and after retirement became a co-owner and operator of The Brooklyn Store. He was a long-time member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Tudie was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary LoPorto; three brothers; and three sisters. He is survived by his three children, Jean Cappo and husband Don, Ginger Brown and husband Dan, Chuck LoPorto and wife Cindy; seven grandchildren, Roseanne (Eric) Mertes, Maria (Joe) Blatt, Danny Brown, Matt (Melanie Norris) Brown, Salvatore (Gina DiSalvo) LoPorto, Michael LoPorto, Christopher LoPorto; four great grandchildren, Rachel and Nic Mertes, Ashlyn and Joe Blatt, Jr.; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Tudie’s grandsons, as well as great grandsons, will have the honor of serving as his pallbearers.
