Lorina Marie Barber, 88 of Kansas City, KS passed away at her residence on Tuesday April 29, 2025. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2025 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday at the chapel. Lorina was born April 8, 1937, in Omaha, NE to Willis Alexander and Cleo E. (Richmond) Barber and was a resident of Independence for a number of years. She was a caregiver and had a passion for helping those in need. She enjoyed sewing, drawing, artwork, playing cards and BINGO, and, most of all spending time with her family. She was a longtime member of the RLDS church and worked at Heritage House. She is survived by; 5 children, Debbie Foster and husband Miguel of Kansas City, KS, Ronald Martin and wife Ceilto of Independence, MO, Roger Martin and wife Diane of Raytown, MO, Sandy Davis and husband Ralph of Buckeye, AZ and Steven Vickers and wife Denise of Lake of the Ozarks; a brother, Walt Barber and wife Kathy of Connecticut; 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and a grandson, Frankie Quick.
