Richard (Rick) Eugene Louvier of Kansas City, MO, 54, ended his battle with cancer the evening of July 19th, 2014 surrounded by his family and friends. A devoted husband, father and grandfather loved with a heart of gold. Any time there was a child around small enough to carry, they would be in his arms. A skilled tradesman, Rick was always willing to help a friend in need. He worked hard but, enjoyed soaking his family in during vacation and was an accomplished fisherman.
Rick is survived by his wife Brenda Louvier, daughter Katherine Louvier, step children: Heather McCarty and Anthony Cunliffe and grandson Jaxon McCarty. Rick is also survived by his four brothers: Bobby Louvier Jr., Clyde Louvier, Raymond Louvier and Garland Louvier; and four sisters: Kathy Powers, Cheryl Louvier, Mary King and Frances Louvier. He was preceded in death by his father Bobby Louvier Sr., his mother Louise Louvier and his sister Irene Louvier.
Rick also took great pride in helping raise Ronica, Billy and Ryan as they were his own children.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26th, 2014 at 2 pm at New Hope Baptist Church in Independence, MO with the burial following at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Grain Valley, MO. A visitation will be held Friday, July 25th, 2014 from 5 pm - 8 pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, MO.
