Kathleen B. Lubben, 91, formerly of Independence, MO, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2007 in Chillicothe, MO. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2007 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 3601 S. Sterling Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. Graveside services 3:00 p.m. in Hale Cemetery, Hale, MO. Contributions may be made to the church. Kathleen was born November 25, 1915 in Hale, MO to George F. and Emma (Audsley) Ballew. She attended grade school at Morgan Country School and graduated from Hale High School in 1933. In 1935, Kathleen moved to Kansas City and worked for the following 29 years at Wilson Sporting Goods Company. She went on to work at H.R. Williams Milling Supply Co. as a head seamstress and floor supervisor. On February 25, 1945 Kathleen was married to Virgil H. Lubben, a carpenter superintendent. Virgil designed and built their home at 3415 Maywood Court in Independence where Kathleen lived until moving to Chillicothe in 2002. Kathleen was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church since 1961 and was an active member as long as her health permitted. She was also a member of United Methodist Women. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband Virgil on May 18, 1980; four brothers, three sisters; and two nephews. She is survived by nine nephews and five nieces; Gerald, Clifford, Don, Wilfred, and Bryce Casebolt, Roy Yeomans, Don, Lynn, and Alan Ballew, Lillian Christian, Joyce Hayen, Marilyn Monson, Nancy Anderson, and Pat Kelly. Aunt Kathleen was a great lady and was loved by all who knew her.
