Peter P. Lyday, 58 of Blue Springs, MO, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015. A celebration of life open house will be held from 6:00-8:00pm Sunday, September 13th at Speaks Suburban Chapel.
Peter was born the fifth of six children on August 21, 1957 in Indianapolis, IN to Geraldine Marie (Fitzsimons) and George Wendell Lyday. He graduated from Carmel High School class of 1975. He married his beloved Janice Linn (Patterson) on July 16, 1977. Together they raised two wonderful children. He was a dedicated husband and proud of his children. He worked for Best Locking Systems (now Stanley Tools) for 35 years before retiring in 2010. He enjoyed running, snow skiing, traveling and his golden retrievers. Peter was a simple man who was happiest simply living and loving his friends and family. He will be missed by his wife, Janice Lyday of the home; son, Christopher Lyday (Emily) of Hawaii; daughter, Erin Lyday (Justin Schaefer) of Kansas City, MO; sister, Chris Swartz (Dick) of Vero Beach, FL; brother Mark Lyday (Sue) of Milwaukee, WI; sister, Terri Lewis (Bart) of Chicago, IL; sister, Jackie Matern (David) of Lakeland, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.
