Lydia Rolda Adrales, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024, at her home in Independence, MO. She was 90 years old.
Born on March 27, 1934, in Manila, Philippines. Lydia dedicated her life to creating a home for her family. On Christmas Day of 1951, she married Luis Adrales. Together they raised 10 children. As her family grew, Lydia embraced her role as grandmother. She and Luis were blessed with 27 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren during their 72 years of marriage.
Lydia's greatest joy was her family. She took immense pride in her role as a homemaker, pouring her heart into a house filled with music, laughter, and the aroma of her traditional Filipino dishes.
Beyond her family, Lydia was an avid gardener. She was especially fond of roses and jasmines. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing and karaoke singing with friends and family. As a Filipina, she was a lifelong Catholic and kept her culture alive by sharing her joy of cooking. She had many guests and would often welcome them by asking if they have eaten yet or if they were hungry.
Lydia is survived by her husband Luis, and her children along with their spouses and grandchildren: Lorna Edwards (Brian, Mark), Lilia Tercias (Ryan, Lanni), Maria Lolly Ayers Baslee (Roy, Heather, Brooke), Lucy Dufoe (Stephanie), Leticia Howell (Brittany, Elizabeth, Christopher), Luis Adrales Jr. (Michael, Samantha), Lauro Adrales (Nicholas, Morgan, Jordyn, Mason), Loreto Adrales (Loreto Jr, Matthew), Loida Moore Wexler (Jennifer), and Lalaine Davidson Kunefke (Danielle, Dominique, Alexandra, Victoria, Logan, Leila). And her sisters Remedios, Erlinda, and Violeta.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Filomena de Guzman and Ricardo Rolda. Also her 7 brothers and sisters: Florencia, Roberto, Zenaida, Romeo, Eduardo, Carmencita, Arturo. And beloved granddaughter Isabela Walton Adrales.
