Mac David Lamken

May 18, 1990 — October 28, 2025

Mac David Lamken, born on May 18, 1990, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025, while on his honeymoon in Bali, Indonesia with his beloved wife Courtney.

Mac lived life to the fullest and never let the grass grow under his feet. He loved to travel, even to the farthest corners of the earth, and truly experience his destinations: swimming in Indonesian rainforest infinity pools, hiking the Andes Mountains in Argentina during their World Cup victory, as well as visiting Machu Picchu and the Rainbow Mountains in Peru. One of his mantras was “get out and touch the Earth”. Their recent destination wedding in Glacier National Park with his family and friends was just another glimpse into the adventurous life Mac and Courtney shared.

Mac worked at H&Parris Builders for 2 ½ years, helping to expand the company’s footprint in the Kansas City area, and his engineering skills further contributed to the team. He turned his passions into lifestyles. He developed a love for brewing beer, transforming raw ingredients into something delicious. Together with friends, he turned a small home-brewing project into a full-scale microbrewery through literal blood, sweat, and tears. The past seven years, Mac has been one of the owners of Diametric Brewing Company. During the pandemic, he brought together 24 breweries in an effort to keep them all in business with the “Together We Can” events. Seeing his friends succeed in their brewing endeavors brought him immense joy, which reflected his character and selflessness.

Mac had a rare gift for cultivating relationships; you would have thought you had known him your whole life, even if you had just met. He loved to see people laugh, smile, and feel loved. He recently launched a podcast with friends called “Something’s Wrong Here”, where he collaborated with guests to share knowledge and uncover off-the-beaten-path subjects. Mac advocated for many worthy causes via the brewery and was active in several charities, volunteering his hand and raising money for organizations that support veterans and first responders, as well as homelessness, causes he was extremely passionate about.

Mac was quick-witted and always ready to lift the spirits of those around him. His kindness and generosity were hallmark traits that endeared him to friends and strangers alike. Mac was an avid sports enthusiast, and enjoyed boating, skiing, hiking, playing volleyball, pickleball, disc golf, soccer, and hockey. He had a passion for reading that fueled his curiosity and ever-expanding knowledge.

Mac is survived by his loving wife Courtney; parents, David and Denna Lamken; brothers, Troy Ganson (Brianna) and Scott Ganson (Michelle); sister Lindsay Lamken; grandfather, Harold Martin; nephews, Knox and Graham; niece, Brinkley; fur babies, Remy and Marley, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

A Celebration of Mac’s Life will be held at Diametric Brewing Company in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, on November 23. Additional information on the ticketed event can be found on the brewery’s Facebook page shortly.

A private service will be held for Mac’s family at the Speaks Suburban Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Battle Within.
