Margie Deane (Ferrel) Machart, 84 of Independence, MO died Mar. 16, 2008 at Monterey Park Nursing Center. Services will be 11:00 am, Wed. Mar. 19, 2008 at South Crysler Restoration Branch, 16101 E. Salisbury Rd. Indep. MO 64050 with the visitation being held from 9 am until service time. Burial in Md. Grove Cemetery. Margie was born Sep. 7, 1923 in Lamar, NE to Grover and Alta (Hall) Ferrel. She graduated from high school in Holyoke, CO and then attended Business College in Denver, CO. She married Dale Machart on Nov. 11, 1942. Margie was instrumental in organizing the girls’ programs of Skylarks and Orioles in the Eastern Colorado District. She also served as President of PTA. She spent 10 years in Bible Study Fellowship and Community Bible Study as a student and an instructor of children’s classes. She considered herself a “professional” volunteer. Many Sundays she could be found teaching children in Sunday School and/or playing the organ for church services. Margie wrote and helped produce a set of seven cloth children’s scripture books. Dale and Margie moved to Independence in 1991 and were active members of the Waldo Restoration Branch and then the South Crysler Restoration Branch. Margie was preceded in death by two daughters, Becky Carrick and Kathy Machart, her parents, a brother and a nephew. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Dale Machart and daughter Jeanie Hazelrigg and husband Randy of Independence, MO. A son-in-Law Mark Carrick, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a nephew and two nieces.
