Marcus Macias, 34, of Kansas City, MO, passed away, Thursday, February 17, 2005 at Independence Regional Health Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at St. Mary�s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. There will be a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Monday followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m., Monday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Marcus was born August 14, 1970 in Independence, MO to Tony and Virginia (Polina) Macias. He grew up in Independence and attended public schools graduating from Truman High School in 1988 where he excelled in football, track, wrestling and was a member of the Boy�s Club. He was a member of St. Mary�s Catholic Church. He had worked for Nordstrom�s where he was the manager of the shoe department until 1996 when he became disabled. He is survived by; his parents, Tony and Vicky Macias of Kansas City, MO; an aunt and uncle, Jim and Brodie Gorbet of Independence, MO and Jose and Natalie Rivera of Kansas City, KS; an aunt, Margaret Dominquez of Kansas City, KS; his faithful dog companion, Boston Raul of the home and numerous cousins. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
