Dorothy Magers

Dorothy L. Magers, 90, Liberty, MO, formerly of Independence, MO passed away Dec. 19, 2011. Services will be 10 am, Friday, Dec. 23 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; interment at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 am before the service.

Dorothy was born April 8, 1921 in Dearborn, MI. She was a born again Christian who regularly read her Bible and memorized several of its books. She was a member of the Wycliffe Bible Translators Scripture Memory Fellowship. She also hosted many Bible Study Groups and opened her home to many missionaries as they studied and traveled through our area. Most recently, she was a member of the Rockwood Baptist Church and before that Fairmont Christian Church. Most of all she loved her children and grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Richard E. Magers in 1990. She is survived by sons Patrick Magers and wife Claudia, Liberty, MO; Michael Magers and wife Irene, Lake Dallas, TX; sisters Betty Jewell, Excelsior Springs, MO; Jean Nunn, Colorado; grandsons Sean Magers and wife Andrea, Patrick Magers, Nathan Magers and wife Danielle, Jason Magers and wife Nicole and great-grandchildren Jonah, Isaac and Kaydn.
