Andy Edward Maglich, 100 of Independence, MO passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2011 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept 23, 2011 at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 9:30 until service time Friday at the Church. Burial will follow in Mound Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Friends of Sugar Creek or to the St. Cyril’s Catholic Church Building Fund. Andy was born August 26, 1911 in Sugar Creek, MO to John and Mary (Dobernik) Maglich and has been a lifelong area resident graduating from Northeast High School. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. He had worked for over 43 years at the Standard Oil Refinery n Sugar Creek before he retired in 1964. He was a member of St. Cyril’s Catholic Church, the American Legion, The Moose Lodge #10 and the Eagle’s Lodge all of Sugar Creek, MO. He enjoyed spending time at his lake home and property. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
