Kyle Main, 71, passed away on January 15, 2015, at Lincoln Community Nursing Home in Lincoln, MO.
A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30pm Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO. A graveside service will be held at Mound Grove Cemetery at 2:00pm on Wednesday, following the visitation.
Kyle was born on May 25, 1943, to Louis and Helen Main. Louis was a medic in World War II. Kyle grew up involved in Eagle Scouts and Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, trout-fishing, and the great outdoors. He found his talent in woodworking, creating carvings and sculptures as keepsakes for family and friends. He loved art, and he particularly enjoyed Egyptian art at the local museums. He was a member of the RLDS church.
Kyle was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruby; his parents, Helen and Louis Main; and his brother, Dennis. Survivors include his daughter, Mara Lowe, her husband, Ryan, and their daughter, Reghan (known to Kyle as “Boom-Boom”); brother, Arthur Main, his wife, Karen, and their children, Kelly and Nick; and brother Herschel Main, his wife, Linda, and their children, Heidi, Denise, and Byron.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to NAMI-KC, 406 W. 24th Street, Suite 603, KCMO 64111, in memory of Kyle.
