Ronald L. Mallory, 51, passed away on February 11, 2009 from complications due to ALS (Lou Geghrig’s Disease). Ron was born to Lester Mallory and Margarett Hogsett-Mallory on June 24, 1957 in Chillicothe, MO. He graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1975. Ron was a lifelong Midwest area resident, living mostly in Chillicothe, MO, Cedar Rapids and Keokuk, IA and most recently the greater Kansas City area. He was also a member of the First Christian Church in Lathrop, MO.
Ron was most recently employed for several years as an administrative assistant to the Hickok-Dible Companies. He was proud of his Scottish heritage, and helped found the Hawkeye Area Grand Gaelic Isles Society in Cedar Rapids and spent two summers in Scotland.
Ron was preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Grundy Mallory and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Chaffin, his mother Margarett, and great aunt and uncle, Clarence and Lucille Whitaker. Ron is survived by Aaron Jaynes, life partner of the home; father, Lester Mallory of Chillicothe, MO; sister, Laurie Mallory also of Chillicothe; and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM Friday, Feb. 13 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence. Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday at the Community of Christ Stone Church, 1012 W. Lexington Ave., Independence. Graveside services will be Saturday at 2:00 PM at Braymer Evergreen Cemetery in Braymer, MO.
