James E. “Jim “ Maloney, 86, Kansas City, MO died Sept. 14 2010. Services will be at 10 am, Sat., Sept. 18, 2010 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO; interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Missouri Veterans Home, 1300 Veterans Rd, Warrensburg, MO 64093.
Jim was born Aug. 9, 1924. He served in two theaters of action in WW II in the U.S. Navy. He began working for Schwenk Sheet Metal in 1948 until his retirement in 1980. Jim was a sixty-year member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #2 and a member of the VFW. He enjoyed spending time at his place at Bull Shoals Lake, fishing, deer hunting and his vegetable garden.
Jim is survived by step-brother George Wagner and wife Joann, Morris Hill, IN; nephews George Wagner and wife Cecilia, Kingsville, MO; Michael Wagner and wife Maribeth, Cincinnati, OH; niece Barbara Estep and husband Mike, Morris Hill, IN; nephew Steven Wagner and wife Christine, Lawrenceburg, IN; great-niece Teresa Messick and husband Jerry, Independence, MO; niece Marsha Albert and husband Danny, Lawson, MO; nephew John Maloney and wife Linda, Kearney, MO; niece Anna Cooper, Gallatin, MO; nephew James Michael Maloney and wife Hadley, Belton, MO; sister-in-law Twila Maloney, Warsaw, MO and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
