Mamie Christine Robinson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother, entered her eternal rest early in the morning on December 28, 2025, at the age of 97, in Blue Springs, Missouri. She was surrounded by the love of her five daughters and one granddaughter.
Born on November 9, 1928, in McAlester, Oklahoma, daughter to Richard and Pauline Beale, Mamie was one of six children. Mamie lived a life defined by her unwavering dedication to her family and the warmth she brought to every gathering.
Mamie graduated from McAlester High School and on Sunday, March 30, 1947 she married the love of her life Melvin "Don" Robinson and from their union came 5 daughters. Mamie was predominately a homemaker, but also held various jobs, ranging from a Commercial Service Representative at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a young woman, an Avon Lady as a young mother, to one of her favorite jobs as Office Manager at McComas Airport (now known as Lee's Summit Airport). She also worked a short while at a bank. But her greatest accomplishment was in raising her family of five daughters. She was room mother, Camp Fire Girl assistant leader, President of the PTA, sewed dresses; including all the bridesmaid dresses for 3 of her girl's weddings. Later in life she took her sewing skills and created countless, beautiful quilts with her quilting buddies. She cooked for her large family and had them over frequently for holidays and birthdays and various gatherings. Everyone agreed she made the best Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners by far.
Mamie, known as "MoMo" to her grandchildren, was lovingly referred to as the "Baby Whisperer" by her daughters. She could quiet her babies quickly and easily with her tender touch and gentle cooing. Toddlers responded quickly to her, and she was a friend and confidante to children. She had a beautiful, calm spirit which children recognized and responded to. She would get down on the floor and play with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren alike, well into her older years. She wanted to know her family and be known to them. She succeeded in this endeavor.
She took good care of herself and her health, walking each day and going outside no matter the temperature or the weather. She would shovel snow off her own drive, pull weeds, decorate for the holidays, again well into her older years. She stayed as physically active as she was able, for as long as she was able, which turned out to be a little over 97 years! She lived her last years at Benton House, participating in the activities offered there, especially the walking club, and enjoying the company and friendships of the residents and caregivers there.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her in their hearts: her daughters, Dianne Wyatt, Patricia Hackett (Ed), Suzanne Owen, Mickey Krahenbuhl (Tary), and Konstance VanCompernolle (Bruce); her 11 grandchildren, Nathan Wyatt (Katrin), Nicholas Wyatt (Brian), Drew Wyatt (Lindsay), Alexis Peterson (Christian), Natalie Bray (Alec), Michelle Krahenbuhl, Chad Krahenbuhl (Catie), Jacob Krahenbuhl, Kelsie Norris (Landon), Shelby Smith (Robert), and Emily Sirijohn (Patrick); and her 12 great-grandchildren, Lauren, Makaela, Ava, Olivia, Londyn, Callie Jane, Levi, Amelia, Aurora, Nova, Dawson, and Andi, along with her newest addition to her family her great-great-grandchild, Stevie Mack.
Mamie is reunited in spirit with her husband, M. Don Robinson; and other dearly departed loved ones, including her son-in-law Jerald Wyatt and son-in-law Charlie Owen, and her parents, Richard and Pauline Beale, as well as her parents-in-law, Harold and Lucile Robinson, and five siblings. Their memories live on through the legacy of love Mamie left behind.
A visitation will be held at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri, on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, from 9:30am until the time of the funeral service beginning at 10:30am. Following the service, a graveside service will take place at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri, at 1:00pm.
Mamie Christine Robinson will be deeply missed but never forgotten, her legacy of love and family continuing to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
