Richard “Rick” J. Mandl Jr., 62, of Buckner, MO, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at his home in Buckner.

Rick was born on October 2, 1960, in Kansas City, MO, to Richard and Wanda (Mayes) Mandl. He grew up in Lawson, MO, and graduated in 1978 from Lawson High School. He started his working career as an over the road truck driver for over 10 years. Rick began his career with Ford in 1999 starting on the assembly line working his way to Committeeman and finally becoming a Team Leader for the Paint Department until the time of his passing. Rick was proud of his farm, which he and his husband, Tracy, built in Osceola, MO.

Rick will be remembered for his love of family and friends, farming, horticulture, and his compassion for all.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his husband of 33 years, Tracy Bottcher; two sisters, Cam Ross, and Catherine (Dean) Craig; two brothers, Dirck (LeeAnn) Mandl, and Kurt Mandl; and many nieces and nephews.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Speaks Buckner Chapel, 300 Adams, Buckner, MO, 64016, 816-650-5555. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday following the visitation at the funeral chapel. Online condolences may be expressed at www.speakschapel.com.
