Paul Mann

Paul A. Mann, 89, Independence, MO, formerly of Monett, MO, passed away March 3, 2011. Services will be at 2 pm, Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055; interment with Full Military Honors at Blue Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 – 8 pm, Monday at the funeral home.
Paul was born to Oren and Irene Mann in Crowberg, KS on March 25, 1921. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and earned citations for bravery, two Silver Stars and five Bronze Stars. He was a cement finisher for National Concrete Co. for thirty years and retired in 1988. He was a member of the Cement Finishers Union Local #518 for many years.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. He is survived by his wife of 64½ years Freda Mann; daughters Brenda Knowles and husband Richard; Inita Pries and husband Kenny; sisters Barbara Berry; Shirley Olsen and husband Ron; Sandra Thurman and husband Jim; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
