Elizabeth Mannering

Liz Mannering, 78 of Independence, MO died Thursday. Oct 4, 2007 at her home. Services will be 10:00 am, Mon. Oct 8, 2007 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Indep. MO. Burial in Md. Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 �" 8:00 pm, Sunday at the chapel. The family suggests memorials to the South Crysler Restoration Branch, Music Department, 16101 Salisbury Rd., Indep. MO 64050. Mrs. Mannering was born in Chicago, IL on Apr. 26, 1929 to Fred and Ida Rathmann and attended schools in Chicago, Independence and Kansas City, MO. She was a member of the RLDS church and attended the South Crysler Restoration Branch where she was an active member. She had been Women’s Leader, Vacation School Director, Music Director, Choir member and organist and pianist in other congregation. She was employed as a secretary for many years and had taught organ and piano lessons in her home and at Turner Music Company. She also played for weddings, funerals, and church services. She was active in singing in trios, Cantanina Chorus at the Stone Church and choirs in other congregations. Liz was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Guy Mannering in 2002, her parents, four brothers and a sister. She is survived by her son, Gary Mannering and wife, Sharon of Independence, MO, a daughter Vicki Combs and husband Don of Sibley, MO, four grandchildren, Julie Combs Bingman and husband, Scott; Rob Combs and wife, Sheridan; Nicholas Mannering and wife Irene and Christopher Mannering. Five great granddaughters, Elizabeth Ruth Bingman, Katherine Elise Bingman, Victoria Anne Bingman, Emma Paige Combs and Sonja Vivian Combs.
