Lois Dean Mansell, 93, of Raytown, MO, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospice House. A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00am Monday, September 14th at Carson Speaks Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 10:00am at the chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
Lois was born on January 18, 1922, in Miller County, MO near Tuscumbia to John H. and Nina S. (Helton) Abbett. She lived in the greater Kansas City area and Raytown since 1928, and attended Raytown High School. Lois married William “Bill” Mansell on March 4, 1940, and became a homemaker and bookkeeper for her self-employed husband who owned and operated Mansell Bros. Radiator and Air Conditioning Service on Benton Blvd. in Kansas City, MO for 40+ years. Together, they raised three children. Lois enjoyed her family and home. She was a wife of 46 years, a loving grandmother to three grandchildren, a great-grandmother to seven, and a friend to many. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Helen Bach, Pauline Boyer, and Gertrude Holt; her husband, Bill; her daughter, Michelle Bradley; son-in-law, Bill Bradley; son, Michael N. Mansell; and daughter-in-law, Kathryn Mansell. Survivors include her daughter, Rita Robertson (Dan) of Benbrook, TX; granddaughter, Angela Cathey (Greg) of Fort Worth, TX; great-granddaughter, Laura Cathey of College Station, TX; great-grandson, Hayden Cathey of Fort Worth, TX; granddaughter, Jennifer Sniderman (Peter) of Hershey, PA; three great-grandsons, Ethan, Paul, and Dean Sniderman, all of Hershey, PA; grandson, Michael G. Mansell (Brooke) of Raytown, MO; great-granddaughters, Kayla and Abby also of Raytown, MO, plus several nieces and nephews and their families.
