Joye L. Maple, 83, passed away on March 25, 2015, in Independence, MO.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 11:00am, at Blue Ridge Christian Church, 3625 Blue Ridge Blvd, Indep., MO 64052. Family will greet friends an hour prior to the service.
Joye was born on April 11, 1931, in Nevada, MO. She met and married William (Bill) Maple, and together raised four children. Whether she was cooking for family and friends or organizing church activities, entertaining others was her passion.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bill; 2 sons: Kevin (Kathy) Maple and Kent (Carol) Maple; 2 daughters: Laura (Harold) Maple Kerns and Lee Ann Hazelrigg; grandchildren: Nellie Maple, Zachary Kerns, Austin Kerns, and Blake Hazelrigg.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mable Gray; father, Robert L. Brown; and sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Delbert Armstrong.
The family encourages contributions be made to Blue Ridge Christian Church or the American Cancer Society in Joye’s memory.
