Marcia Deanne Rice (Née Zehnder), 71, of Independence Missouri, was blessed to be called home and walk together with the Lord on September 2nd 2026. Marcia was born in Clinton Missouri in March of 1955, the first born daughter to Fred and Vera Zehnder (Née Woirhaye).

Marcia graduated from Truman High School in Independence Missouri in 1973. She went on to have many careers over the years before she retired. Marcia was an easy going, Candy Crush game loving, relaxing on her back deck, slow paced woman. Her much earned retirement included all of the above. She married the love of her life on August 31st 1988 at the First Presbyterian Church in Independence Missouri.

Survivors include husband, Michael (Curly) of the home; daughter, Courtney (Tyler); grandson, Gage, and granddaughter, Zoey, of Lee's Summit Missouri. Daughter, Katie (Lee) and granddaughter, Vera of Independence Missouri. Three brothers, and many nieces and nephews. 

Preceded in death by parents, Fred and Vera; sister, Terrie and daughter, Jessica.

Marcia’s wishes were to be cremated, with only a private family gathering to celebrate her life.
