Marie Losapio, 91, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025. Born on August 23, 1933, in Kansas City, Mo., to Salvatore and Angelina (Sparacino) Losapio, Marie was a proud graduate of Manual High School in 1951. She went on to build a meaningful career as a meticulous and organized secretary, known for her dedication and work ethic.
Marie was a devoted sister and a beloved aunt. She treasured time with her family and had a remarkable talent for embroidery and sewing. Marie had a gift for making others feel truly special — often arriving with thoughtful presents for her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. No one left her home hungry. Her kindness, creativity and generous spirit will always be remembered.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Rose Miller; and her brother, Salvatore Losapio. She is survived by her sisters, Josephine Passantino and Teresa Waddell; her brother, Natale Losapio; and many extended family members who will miss her deeply.
A visitation will be held Friday, July 25, from 9-10 a.m. at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Mo., with the burial to follow at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Raytown, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Croix Hospice in Marie’s memory.
