Marilyn Wallace

Marilyn Jean Woods, 88, of Independence, MO passed away on April 26, 2024. She was born on October 22, 1935, to Robert and Ardella (Soroson) Woods. Marilyn graduated from Akron East High School in Akron, Ohio in 1953. Marilyn moved to Tucson, Arizona where she met and married her husband Donald Harlan Woods. Together they moved to Longrun, MO and lived on a farm with his parents. She moved to Kansas City, MO and worked at Sears until 1958 and then on December 31, 1958, started working at Hallmark and worked there for 43 years.

Marilyn is survived by her brother Willard “Sonny” Woods and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation for Marilyn will be from 10:00am-11:00am on Saturday Mary 11, 2024 at Carson-Speaks Chapel (1509 W Lexington Independence, MO) with a funeral service to immediately follow at 11:00am.
