Marion Francis Martin, 94 of Independence, MO passed away Friday morning, January 9, 2026 at the Villages of Jackson Creek. Cremation is planned with private graveside inurnment to be held at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO with full military honors.

Marion was born September 8, 1931 in Denver Colorado to William C. and Doris (Galbaugh) Martin and spent his early life in Colorado until relocating to the Kansas City area where he worked for over 33 years as a wire drawer for the Union Wire Rope Division until his retirement in 1988. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was actively involved in his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, attending their activities into his 90’s. He enjoyed walking and camping and was a member of the Community of Christ. He was married to Lois E. (Neill) on April 30, 1955, she passed away on December 6, 2024. Survivors include; 3 daughters, Jane Durham (Mark), Diana Abraham (Gordon) and Karen Massop (Vince); 5 grandchildren, Bradley Williamson, Julie Long, Haley Ward, David Abraham (Brielle) and Jennifer Smith (Keegan), 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 brothers and a sister.
