Marion "Marty" Danzo, Jr.

Marion “Marty” Danzo, Jr., 82, of Independence, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Born on July 22, 1943, in Kansas City, Marty was the son of Marion and Angeline Danzo. He was raised in the Northend of Kansas City where he attended Glennon High School and then enlisted for 3 years in the US Army.

Those who knew Marty will remember him for his loyalty, upbeat personality, sense of humor, and warm smile. He loved his family, real estate, playing cards and classic cars. Above all, he was devoted to the Lord. Marty had a gift for making others feel welcome, offering wise counsel when asked, and being present when it mattered most - leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He is survived by his daughters; Angela Stark (Brad) & Sherry Roberts (Trent); grandchildren Brandon Webster (Brittany), Brooke Kensinger (Justin) & Adam Roberts. Bonus grandchildren Zach Stark (Caitlin), Logan Stark (Ashton) and Kristyna Guerra (Vince). Great grandchildren Brody & Bridgette Webster, Levi & Owen Kensinger, Nolan and Ryann Stark, Kiyra & Vinny Guerra. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bernie Danzo & Frank Danzo.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Old Paths Baptist Church, 1600 SW Smith Street, Blue Springs, Missouri at 1:00 with military funeral honors to follow.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to dad’s hospice caregivers, along with family and friends who supported him during his final days.

Marty will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who loved him.
