Faye Martin

Faye B. Martin, 73, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2011 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 10113 E. Lexington, Independence, MO 64053. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052 where the rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Faye was born April 17, 1938 in Liberty, MO the daughter of Clay and Pauline (McGinnis) Cates. She cherished being a grandmother and loved her family dearly. Mrs. Martin enjoyed flower gardening and cooking in her spare time. Faye is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, James Martin; children Wendy Ragsdale and husband Bill, Lori Lamanno and husband Tony, Brian Martin; grandchildren Amanda, Elvis, Amber, Austin, Aiden; great-grandchildren Joshua, Amaya, Braydon; brother Sam Elliott and wife Lori; brother-in-law George Rae; and by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister Sue Rae.
