Janet Martin

Janet M. “Jan” Martin, 76 of Independence, MO passed away, Friday, July 18, 2008 at The Groves. Cremation is planned with private inurnment to be held at a later date. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the MS Society. Jan was born August 5, 1931 in Waterloo, IA to Anthony and Genevieve (Choromanski) Napierkowski and spent her early life in Iowa. She had worked as a hostess at the Lakewood Oaks Country Club and the Blue Springs Country Club for a number of years before she retired in 1998. She enjoyed her houseplants, serving her special patrons and friends at the country club and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She had attended St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Jan is survived by; her twin sons, David E. Stamos and his wife Rhonda of Independence, MO and Daniel G. Stamos and his wife Christy of Lee’s Summit, MO; grandchildren, Alex Stamos, Nicholas Stamos, Taylor Stamos, Patrick Stamos and Kate Stamos; a brother, Eugene Napierkowski and wife Margaret; sisters, Amelia Clemmons and JoAnne Arimura; a bother-in-law, Donald Hasbrouck. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Helen Hasbrouck. The family wishes to thank those who made her life special and peaceful at the end.
