Pauline Martin

P. Frances Martin, 84, Independence, MO passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Feb. 19, 2009. Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Omega Healthcare or the Alzheimer’s Assoc.
Frances was born May 12, 1924 in Independence to Bert & Janie (McKay) Jones and was a lifelong resident. She married Wray Sheldon Martin on May 8, 1943. They raised three children: Christy, Denny and Susie. She was a member of the Blue Springs Congregation of the Remnant Church. Frances was a homemaker who also volunteered at the Independence Sanitarium and for the Red Cross.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; a sister; her loving husband of fifty-five years Wray S. Martin who passed away April 7, 1999 and grandson Rob McQuitty on March 1, 2000. Survivors include children Christy McQuitty and husband William, Silvis, IL; Denny Martin and wife Sandy; Susie Wilson and husband Fred, all of Independence, MO; sisters Shirley Edmunds; Pat Gore; grandchildren Rich McQuitty and wife Sue, Colona, IL; Emillie Wilson, Independence, MO; great-granddaughters Maddy & Loryn McQuitty, Colona, IL; three step-granddaughters and several step-grandchildren.
