Mary Belle Tedder

Mary Belle Tedder, 91 of Chillicothe, MO passed away Monday, November 6, 2023, at Northcare Hospice House in NKC, MO.

Mary Belle was born March 28, 1932, in Lathrop, MO to Mary and Lester Price.  She graduated the class of ’49 from Plattsburg High School, Plattsburg, MO.  She received her Bachelor of Arts at William Jewell college in Liberty, MO with the class of 1953. 

She was united in marriage to J. C. Tedder on December 7, 1958. She and J together raised his two sons, Jim and John.  She was a Church secretary for 7 years at Mount Washington Baptist Church and Pastor wife for many years. Mary Belle enjoyed reading, Crossword puzzles, Gardening, Dominoes, Family and Friends.

Mary Belle’s passion was to work with the women of the church in the area of Women’s Missionary Union Director.

Her fondest moments were raising her two boys and later becoming MIMI to her “Adopted Family” based in Chillicothe, MO.

She is survived by one son, John Tedder, Odessa, MO; Wayne Turner, Cousin, Sacramento, CA; Adopted Family members: Dowell and Mary Ellen Kincaid, Chillicothe; Nancy Marriott, Excelsior Springs, MO; Scott and Laura Kincaid, children: Leah, Austin, Cole, Jenna Ames, IA; Staci and Nate Wright, children:   Andrew and Anna; Roeland Park, KS; Grammy Whitmer, Terri Figg, Chillicothe, MO. And Grand dog, Izzy.

She was preceded in death by her parents-Mary and Lester Price, brother, Sydney Price, Husband, J.C. Tedder, and son, Jim Tedder.

Celebration of Life service will be held at Norfleet Baptist Church, Independence, MO on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 2:00 pm.  Graveside service will convene at Odessa Cemetery at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to WMU Madge Truex Fund. (The money given is used to encourage missionaries, missionary kids, emeritus missionaries, parents of missionaries, and seminary students who are called to be missionaries.)
