Mason Patrick Jelsma

Mason Patrick Jelsma, 8, of Blue Springs, passed away on June 17, 2026. He was born on July 11, 2017 in Blue Springs, Missouri to Patty Beemer and Shane Jelsma.

Though his time with us was brief, Mason brought so much joy and happiness to our family. He was known for his infectious smile, and indomitable spirit. Mason enjoyed fishing, basketball, and snow skiing so much. He was especially proud of himself for skiing from the very top of Arapahoe Basin last winter, a huge accomplishment for a child.

Mason was a student Plaza Heights Christian Academy where he had just completed the third grade.

Mason is lovingly remembered and survived by his parents, Patty Beemer and Shane Jelsma; brother, Garrett Jelsma; grandparents Christy and David Beemer, and Shelly and Steve Jelsma; and many extended family members.

A funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m., on Monday, June 29, 2026 at the Abundant Life-Lee’s Summit, 414 SW Persels Rd., Lee’s Summit, MO 64081. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m., until service time Monday at the church. All who loved Mason are welcome to attend.
