Roberta Masters

Roberta Ellen Masters, 71, Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Waterford Ladies Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, October 1 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, Sept. 30 at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Fire Union Local 781, 320 E Pacific Ave., Independence, MO 64150 or the Kansas City Hospice, 9221 Ward Pkwy, Kansas City, MO 64114. Roberta was born June 6, 1939 in Liberty, MO the daughter of Robert Louis and Dora Ellen (Fryer) Mallinson. She was a faithful and founding member of the Compassionate Heart Ministries and was active in the Ladies Ministries. Roberta was talented in all types of craft making, sewing and loved making cakes when she worked for Dairy Queen. Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Masters; brother Bobby Mallinson; and her parents. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Janet Masters; son John Masters; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister Edna Claibourn; brothers Bradley Mallinson and J.W. Mallinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
