Grace Mattox, 84, of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg. A visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 10 at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Grace was born June 25, 1925 in Kansas City, MO to George C. and Amanda (Fultz) Richards. She graduated from high school and joined the Women’s Auxiliary Corps. Grace then married Thomas Mattox and together raised six children. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband Thomas and two sons, Thomas A. and Stephen. She is survived by her son John (Marilyn) Mattox; daughter Dianne (Mike) Morton; son David (Kelly) Mattox; daughter Vickie (Rick) Jeffries; four grandchildren: Jonathan Ball, Krystle Mattox, Kara Mattox, and Kody James; two great-grandchildren; and sister Georgia Burns.
