Bertie Lou Mays (Powell)

Bertie L. Mays, 86, of Buckner, MO passed away November 5, 2015. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, at the Suburban Chapel with burial to follow at Buckner Hill Cemetery. Bertie was born February 11, 1929 in Carden, OK to Olen C. and Thelma (Webber) Powell. She was a member of Buckner Restoration Branch Congregation. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Joseph L. Mays. Bertie is survived by her four children and their spouses, Brenda Marshall (Rex), Freddie Ray Mays (Mary), Susan Barker (Larry) and Lori Mundy (John A.); seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
