Bonnie Dean McAllister, 76, Independence, MO passed away Monday, November 16, 2009 at Golden Living Center of Independence.

A Celebration of Bonnie’s life will be 1:30 PM Friday, November 20, 2009 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO. Burial will follow at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Bonnie was born November 29, 1932 in Cross Timbers, MO the daughter of Herman John and Jewell (Miller) Hart. She retired in 1985 from Lake City Ammunition as a tool setter. Bonnie enjoyed water skiing in her younger days, traveling and all types of needlework, including sewing and quilting. Above all she loved spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory McAllister in 1970; 3 sisters; 2 brothers; and her parents.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Charles R. McAllister; daughters, Deborah Gaulter and her husband Gary; Beverly Castle; and Melinda McCall and her husband Gary all of Independence; grandchildren, Jennifer Gaulter; Michael Gaulter; Jackie Layton and her husband Carl; Bryan Castle; Carrie Jarman and her husband Travis and Corey West; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Wilma Jean Thomas, Wanda Robinson and Lonna Bea Shaw and numerous nieces and nephews.
