Charles Mcallister

Charles R. McAllister, 79, of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Blue Hills Living Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 9-10:00 a.m. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Charles was born May 25, 1931 in Maxwell, IA to Glen and Mabel (Ruckman) McAllister. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. He married the love of his life, Bonnie Dean Hart, on Sept 9, 1950. Together they shared over 59 years of happiness before her death in November 2009. Mr. McAllister retired from Sears & Roebuck Co. after 25 years of dedicated service. He loved his wife and family dearly. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, working in the yard, restoring his ’54 Ford. Mr. McAllister is survived by his three daughters, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Bonnie; son Gregory; and sister Louise.
