Daniel W. Mccarty, Sr.

Daniel W. McCarty, Sr., 81, of Independence, MO passed away on November 1st at Independence Regional Health Center. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5th at Parkview Congregation of the Community of Christ Church, 801 SW 19th St., Blue Springs, MO 64015. Private burial in Leavenworth National Cemetery. Daniel was born March 29, 1924 in Kansas City, MO. He was one of 10 children born to John and Edith (Admire) McCarty. Mr. McCarty was a veteran of WWII having served faithfully in the U.S. Army and received several awards including a Silver Star and the French Croix de Guerre. He was a humble man who loved his children and adored his grandchildren. Daniel and his wife enjoyed traveling in their spare time. Mr. McCarty is survived by his wife of 59 years, Phyllis ( De Long) McCarty; children Daniel W. McCarty, Jr. and wife Debra, Julie Davis and husband Eric, Patricia Brock and husband Howard; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters and 6 brothers. He was preceded in death by 1 sister.
