Glenn Lewis McDole, 88, 0f Independence, MO passed away, Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at The Groves Rosewood Health Center. Glenn was born September 16, 1920 in Spokane, WA to Robert Alexander and Clara V. (Clark) McDole. He graduated from high school in Tucson, AZ. He received his bachelors and Masters’ degree in Education from CMSU. He worked as an industrial arts teacher in North Kansas City High School for 27 years before he retired in 1983. He also worked as an aircraft mechanic and later was a bee keeper for Walt Weldon. He enjoyed fishing and playing tennis. Glenn was an active member of the Community of Christ Church Enoch Hill congregation which later became Cornerstone Congregation, where he served as an elder, member of the Laurel Club and active volunteer for summer camps. He is survived by his wife Ada; his children from his first wife, Stewart McDole and his wife Patty of Lamoni, IA, Cal McDole and his wife Patty, Glenda White and her husband James and Joyce E. Basler and her husband Alan all of Independence, MO; 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; step children, Louise Benedict and her husband Eric of Knoxville, TN; step children, Steven Markley and his wife Sue of Lee’s Summit, MO and Becky Markley and husband Jim of Houston, TX. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 14, 2009 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Outreach International or to Graceland University. He was preceded in death by his first wife G. Leona in 1988, his second wife Dorthea in 1997, a grandson, Jevon E. Basler in 2008, his parents and 2 brothers. Online
