Thelma Mcghee

Thelma V. McGhee, 90, Arvada, CO, formerly of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, December 6, 2009 at Collier Hospice Center in Wheat Ridge, CO. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Thelma was born June 16, 1919 in Independence MO, the daughter of Walter I. and Carrie (Stonger) Betts. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church. She directed church choirs and drama programs in Colorado and Arizona, campfires at youth camps and had an artistic touch with many things she touched.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. McGhee, and her parents.

Survivors include her dear friend, Jan Wilson, and her daughters and their families, Laurel Hupp and Lana Keizer; family friends, Tom Thomas, Ren Thomas, Tim Thomas, Jane Jones and their families; and many, many other beloved friends.
