Marian Bernice Mckinney

Marian Bernice McKinney, 90, of Independence, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2003, at Independence Regional Health Center. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2003 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, burial Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, September 19, at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to The Baptist Home in care of Immanuel Baptist Church, 112 W. 23rd St S; Independence, MO; 64055. Marian was born January 31, 1913 to Schuyler County, Illinois to Charles and Matilda Yaap. Mrs. McKinney was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church since 1974. She enjoyed traveling with her family, and loved to read, play card games, and share her love for the Lord. Marian is preceded in death by her brother Clyde Yaap, four sisters, Grace Waugh, Chloe Long, Glenna Frisbie, and Bertie Goodrich. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Lloyd McKinney, of the home; son, Ronald Cunningham, and friend Darlene Hall, Welda, KS; stepson, Randy McKinney and his wife Julie, stepdaughter, Beth Gregg; of Lee�s Summit, MO; two granddaughters, Jennifer Cunningham Tarter, and her husband Jason; Iola, KS; Autumn Dunlap, Lee�s Summit, MO; three grandsons, Chris Henderson, and his wife Nancy, Grandview, MO; Dustin McKinney, Lee�s Summit, MO; and Scott McKinney, Blue Springs, MO.
