Dan Allen Mclaughlin

Dan Allen McLaughlin, 71 of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away Friday, November 4, 2022 at Lee’s Summit Hospital. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at Speaks Suburban Chapel on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 2:00 PM. A visitation will take place prior to services from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Dan was born on March 20, 1951 in Kansas City, MO to Francis and Mary Jane (Schmidt) McLaughlin. After obtaining his Doctorate in Osteopathy and completing his anesthesiology residency at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, Dan continued to serve his community as an anesthesiologist until his retirement. One day while Dan was lost on the way to the PACU, he asked a nurse, Patty (Patrice) Dean, for directions and the two of them later dedicated their lives to each other on December 5, 1979. Family was always a central piece of his life, and he often was generous to a fault. While a reserved man by nature and easy going in his later years, he always possessed an adventurous spirit, allowing him to pursue many interests including traveling and hunting. Dan is survived by his wife, Patrice (Patty) McLaughlin; two sons, Anthony (Jessica Quintero) and Michael (Stephanie) McLaughlin; and four grandchildren, Elisabeth, Nicolaus, and Joseph Schmid, and Meyer McLaughlin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Mary Jane McLaughlin.
