Franklin Arthur McMillan, 84, of Sibley, MO, passed away, Saturday, August 29, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs. Services will be 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at the Speaks Buckner Chapel. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m., until service time Wednesday at the chapel. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association. Frank was born November 6, 1924 in Napoleon, MO to Paul Arthur and Bonnie Eula (Daniel) McMillan and has been a lifelong area resident. He proudly served in the US Marine Corp during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. He had worked at Lake City Ammunition Plant for a number of years before he retired in 1987. In retirement he enjoyed restoring old cars, coin collecting, gardening, computers and immediately following his retirement planted over 5000 trees as a conservation effort. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Buckner. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Buckner. Frank was married to LaVina Armbruster on October 6, 1946; she survives him of the home. Other survivors include; 2 sons, Franklin E. McMillan and his wife Adriana of Lone Jack, MO and Nicholas Ray McMillan of Oak Grove, MO; a sister, Helen Cooley of Lexington, MO; 3 grandchildren, Kelly Ann Fagans and her husband David, Nicholas Sean McMillan and Anthony Otero and 4 great grandchildren, Sonya Fagans, Jacob Fagans, Bradley Fagans and Nikkiana Otero.
