Maxene Meador, 87, passed away at her residence in the Carmel Hills Living Center on April 29, 2005. A memorial visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th, Independence, MO 64055. The memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Crossroads Hospice, Pleasant Grove Bible Church or a charity of your choice. Maxene was born on August 9, 1917 in Grain Valley, MO and had lived in the area all of her life. She had been married to Louis F. Meador for 54 years when he died in 1990. Maxene worked at Independence area hospitals and in later life became an Avon Representative and member of the Avon Presidents Club. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Bible Church. She is survived by her two daughters, Dixie L. Davin and husband Dan and Ann Staats and husband Robert; one son, Leonard L. Meador and wife Sherry; two sisters, Lorene Rowley and Erma C. Cross; one brother-in-law, Victor Paul Meador; six grandchildren, Matt Burns, David and Doug Davin, Jeff, Mike and Tracy Meador; and 9 great grandchildren.
