Vincent Meder

Vincent J. Meder, 88 of Independence passed away Thu. Aug 7, 2008 at North Kansas City Hospital. Graveside services will be 1:30 pm, Mon. Aug 11, 2008 at Floral Hills Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to Northcare Hospice. Mr. Meder was born on Aug. 26, 1919 to Frank and Bertha (Rinehardt) Meder in Kansas City, MO. He had been a welder with Butler Manufacturing for over 20 years, retiring in 1968. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoy spending time with his family. He was an avid Ham Radio Operator all his life and had sent many messages around the world. He was known as KOLHG and sent his last QSL to family and friends when at the age of 88 he signed off for one last time. He was a member of the Ham Radio Club of America and was a member of the William Chrisman graduating class of 1943. Mr. Meder was preceded in death by his wife, Helen in 1989. He is survived by two sons, Daniel Meder and wife Dee of Liberty, MO and John K. Meder of Kansas City, MO. Two daughters, Deborah Meder of Kansas City, MO and Louise Baker of Independence, MO. Ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
