Dr. John F. Meise, 90, of Independence, MO, passed away, Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Blue Hills Rest Home. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Sunday at the chapel. Donations may be made to the Southern Care Hospice 1240 NE Windsor Dr. Lee’s Summit, MO 64086. Dr. Meise was born April 3, 1919 in Seymour, MO to Charles and Ruby (Stewart) Meise. He received a BS degree from SMS and graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College and practiced for over 31 years before he retired in 1989. He enjoyed singing and reading. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Independence since 1956 where he sang in the choir. He also sang in the Rick West Show. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a pilot during WWII. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty of the home; a son, Charles of California; 3 grandchildren, Jason of Texas, Kristin and Nicole both of California; a great granddaughter, Lauren Faith of Texas; a brother, Clyde of Prairie Village, Kansas and 3 nephews.
