Robert L. Mericle, 70 of Independence, MO passed away Tue. Oct. 23, 3007 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Inurnment will be in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. Mr. Mericle was born on May 13, 1937 Ft. Dodge, IA. He had been an Accountant with the State of Iowa, retiring in 2001. Robert was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing in Minnesota and visiting the Casino’s. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and was of the Methodist faith. Robert is survived by a son, Robert L. Mericle, Jr. of Des Moines, IA, a daughter, Tracy Lavatai of Independence, A step daughter, Jeanie Smith of Des Moines, IA; a sister, Donna Stevenson of Ft. Dodge, IA; five grandchildren and a great grandson.
